Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. is currently hiring a Director of Programs (Fabrication) to join the Ship Repair Jacksonville leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible leading our burgeoning Submarine and Surface Ship Fabrication efforts to achieving company goals, specifically safety and delivery of projects under budget and on-time while maintaining quality and relationships. In this role, you will also be responsible for the buildout, strategy, growth, and management of Maritime fabrication programs in the Ship Repair portfolio. Responsible for overall program operations and growth, work with Business Development and Capture Management to identify and pursue new maritime fabrication opportunities. Participate in proposal activities, engagement with potential industry partners, and defining overall priorities for these pursuits. Upon award, program responsibilities include effective oversight of all contractual activities, successful delivery of program artifacts, achievement of financial goals, and establishment of strong relationships across the organization. Lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced dynamic customer environment. Serve as a key point of contact, provide strategic guidance to the program team, and interface with senior corporate and customer personnel. Develop new, innovative ways to manage multiple projects for our customers. Leverage fabrication best practices and open capacity across BAE Systems other 2 Shipyards, Norfolk and San Diego, to maximize shop utilization and lower market burdened rate.Responsibilities:

Leads the Fabrication program to meet shipyard business objectives.
Responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling the submarine module fabrication and outfitting program at multiple locations (Jacksonville, Norfolk, San Diego). Maintains a strategic view of program performance and evaluates overall resource requirements (people, equipment, infrastructure) consistent with the business plan and projected work volume.
Work with Planning, MROC Programs, and Operations to build accurate schedules, budgets, and staffing plans that are used to monitor, control, and adjust workflows as the projects progress.
Leads the estimating and planning phases for Fabrication effort by working with the trades, fabrication planners, engineering, and QA on estimates and execution strategy with profitable capture of projects as primary objective.
For assigned programs, projects, and personnel, executes strategies, policies, practices, and programs that leverage the corporation's skills, capabilities, and experience for government and commercial customers in support of business objectivesDevelops and clearly communicates program vision for assigned projects, ensuring the consistent required level of program Safety, Cost, Schedule, and Quality adherence, and operating within Government defined standards itemsResponsibilities include developing the overall strategy for submarine module and aircraft carrier fabrication and outfittingResponsible for customer engagement and oversight of the development of bids, processes, training, tooling, and infrastructure improvements as necessary to grow and sustain the submarine fabrication and module strategy.Works with and integrates support matrix functions (Scheduling, Procurement, Contracts, Finance, Operations, etc.) to achieve business goalsConducts regular reviews of program performance through earned value measurement to ensure program objectives are met, including budget and time constraintsMaintains and complies with BAE Systems Life Cycle Maintenance (LCM) processParticipates in contract negotiation and changes; coordinates preparation of proposals, business plans, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of the contractManages program financials in accordance with BAE Systems policies and standardsMeets and engages with clients and stakeholders to establish relationships, understand requirements, and communicate accomplishments or issuesEnsures collaboration between program and stakeholdersMonitors, controls, and communicates project budget, staffing, schedule, and performance status; prepares status reports; effectively manages program and project scopeIdentifies and assesses project risks and issues, and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectivesInterprets and recommends modifications to company-wide policies and practicesDefines objectives in collaboration with senior management and assesses results from relatively long-term perspectiveQuality focused, schedule driven, and cost-conscious leadership focused on delivering on time and under budgetRequired Education, Experience, & Skills Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree and 16 years of work experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Program/Operations ManagementExperience in People Management/LeadershipExperience in Marine/Maritime, Shipbuilding/Ship Repair, or similar industryExperience in planning, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, resource allocation, risk and opportunity managementKnowledge of shipyard production procedures, fabrication, and related government regulations and administrative proceduresKnowledge of shipyard craft operations related to machinery, tooling, safety, etc.Ability to develop and implement strategic plansAbility to schedule, direct, and organize work within a diverse department and coordinate cross-functionally to maintain efficiencyAbility to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectivelyAbility to work within a dynamic environment and respond well to last minute, high priority, time sensitive projectsAbility to interface and communicate with all levels of internal and external stakeholdersAbility to lead, coach, mentor, and motivate employees in an evolving production environmentAbility to facilitate group decision-making, team building, and conflict resolutionAbility to research problem areas and special requestsAbility to react and perform in emergency situationsSelf-starter that is well-organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focusedStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and presentation skillsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
