- The Director of Client Strategy position plans, develops, and
implements customer strategies to retain existing business and
growth. This role is responsible for client relationship building,
developing agency relationships, the quality of service, and the
delivery of on-time and on-budget completion of projects. The role
is expected to provide thought leadership, agency brand building,
and collaboration with internal and external teams to develop
industry-leading innovations.What you'll do
- Reviews research to anticipate competition and market trends
and translate customer's attitudes toward services and
relationships.
- Thoroughly understand and makes certain the team thoroughly
understands the client's business/brand, competitive environment,
industry trends, and overall marketing plans and goals.
- Communicates strategies, including marketing, operations,
communications, sales, and employee satisfaction, from assigned
customer to executive team.
- Coordinates and aligns strategy with corporate growth
plan.
- Works with other departments to help develop relationships
regarding pricing, positioning, and packaging.
- Strengthen and manage the relationship at the senior level with
the customer's key stakeholders, including both the sales and
marketing teams, executive leadership, and any other appropriate
business functions, to leverage the best results.
- Support the preparation of business cases for any additional
resources required to drive the expansion.
- Actively and proactively support the development of the sales
pipeline.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and achievement of
annual budgets related to growth with the customer. Monitor any
variances and report on any corrective actions necessary.
- Support key decisions on total customer investment.
- Quickly and effectively resolve client problems/concerns to
ensure client satisfaction.
- Drive a holistic data-based strategy across the full customer
journey.
- Partner with strategic planning and creative to meet key client
marketing objectives, push forward insights and ideas, deliver
compelling creative, and maintain high standards.
- Ensure deliverables meet clients' objectives and drive the
business forward.
- Analyze program results, summarize findings, and recommend
program enhancements based on performance insights to improve
effectiveness.
- Lead internal and client meetings and presentations; develop
and deliver proposals, decks, agendas and follow-up
communications.
- Author and deliver POV papers and presentations as a subject
matter expert in the digital marketing and destination
sales/marketing space, as such, you are expected to be well-read on
industry publications and reviews.
- Mentorship and growth nurturing for team members.Qualifications
- 8-10 years of progressive sales and marketing experience,
preferably within a client service organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the tourism, hospitality, and DMO
industry through a sales and marketing lens.
- Thorough knowledge of implementing data-driven marketing
strategies within the travel category.
- Knowledge and experience with sales tactics, media strategy,
and implementation.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with
clients, agency partners, and other departments/teams to deliver
exceptional work for clients.
- Analyzes results, interprets data, and provides insights to
support actionable recommendations.
- Strong presentation skills; successfully presents and sells
strategy, new thinking and ideas to clients and colleagues.
- Able to communicate clearly, thoroughly, succinctly, and in a
timely manner. Responds to comments, suggestions, and criticisms in
a thoughtful and constructive manner.
- Function as an enthusiastic, collaborative, and focused team
player.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring teams and
providing actionable feedback.
- Should possess good knowledge of the digital advertising
landscape, including but not limited to, technology, privacy
