Job Title: Construction Estimator Job Overview: The Construction Estimator position performs all estimating duties required during the pre-construction stage. They are responsible for evaluating projects from a cost perspective utilizing the available construction and engineering industry standards. This position focuses on the biggest and most challenging projects. They support the Business Development Department in pursuing new projects and the Operations Department in the transition from the pre-construction phase to the actual building of the projects. Duties: Analyze requirement documents and project plans and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project Perform takeoffs Review and submit RFI's on time Estimate material, labor & equipment costs Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of the project Evaluate and vet suppliers' and subcontractors quotes Participate in bid review meetings Perform the Estimating/Operation transfers Participate in the bid & outstanding meetings Prepare and submit proposals Interact with clients prior to and after bid submittal Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits Assist in the development of preliminary designs Peer review other estimators' work15Attend meetings with Business Development to close projects Qualifications: Minimum experience: 4 years in estimating (Construction industry, preferably heavy civil with focus on geotechnical) Education level: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Report writing and strategic planning skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
